In this video from the 2021 Pride Ceremony in Palm Springs, California - 3:30 minutes in - Chef Betty is recognized with the "Spirit of Stonewall Volunteer of the Year" award, for serving on the Board of the L-Fund for eight years. Betty led the L-Fund's first fundraiser Gala - named the "Gumbo Gala", after her famous gumbo.
"My my my my my.. I wanted to leave a review after I ate but I was in a food coma! Betty put her foot all in that Gumbo and for those that don't know that's a way of saying the food was sooo delicious. I now have a place to get some real good quality soul food here in the Desert. Service was prompt. Betty was so accommodating it beyond belief..did I mention the Gumbo was on point. I definitely order again and refer friends to B's Table. Soooo good."

"Fantastic vegan gumbo from Chef Betty C. Berrysmith!! So many different vegetables that I lost count. Also, her roux is rich and flavorful with a little spicy kick to it. I got some fresh French bread to accompany this delicious gumbo. I so appreciate when she has vegan options to her standard fare."

Chef Betty & B's Table is truly a Coachella Valley treasure! The age-old statement "made with love" definitely applies to Chef Betty & her amazing gumbo (both the Vegan and the Seafood, chicken, sausage versions). From the aroma once you open the container to the first sumptuous bite....it feels like you are receiving the most comforting and loving hug....one that touches all your senses.
